Alarms
Alsense® captures and processes alarms from the supported controllers.
Via Alarms the following dashboards are available:
Active Alarms (opens pr default)
All Alarms
Alarms Analysis
Below you can find a short description of each dashboard. Each Dashboard offers the possibility to filter the view based on for example severity, category or occurrence or to export the current list to csv format.
You can also check out this short feature video, were we explain how to explore active and all alarms across your organization, how you can sort and filter them, and drill down into specific alarm details:
Active Alarms
The Alarm list displays the alarms captured from the selected store(s). The default setting opens on the ‘Active alarms’ dashboard with the ‘Active’ alarms displayed. The user can use the menu to see "All Alarms or to go to the Alarm analysis page.
The determination of whether the incoming alarms are classified as critical is determined by the configuration in Alsense®. The Alarm Types are determined in the System Manager and normalized in the Alsense® database. Each column heading is sortable
The dashboard refreshes automatically whenever a new alarm is received, with the ‘Last updated’ time displayed.
Alarm Map
The active alarms can also be displayed in the form of a location map, by pressing the "Globe icon".
Any location on the map which has active critical alarms will be highlighted in red.
Each point displays the number of active alarms for that site and by hovering over with the mouse, further information is displayed such as site name, address, total number of alarms (critical and non-critical) and a normalized value that shows the alarms to assets ratio.
Alarms to assets ratio
The assets in this example relate to controllers or devices that can generate alarms that are captured in Alsense®. The ratio is important as it provides a normalized value allowing for the user to make an informed judgement on where best to focus attention (just because a site has the highest volume of alarms for the given period doesn’t necessarily mean it is the worst performer.)
All Alarms Dashboard
The All Alarms Dashboard shows all the alarms specific to the date range specified. Specifically, any alarm that has experienced some activity between the start and end date of the selected period will be included in the list. Typical activities would be if the alarm has been received, acknowledged, closed or remains active within the selected date range.
Each column is sortable.
Please note that if there are many alarms for the selected time range, the alarms are loaded on this page by 100.
Alarm Analysis Dashboard
This dashboard shows and aggregated view of all alarms, for selected sites for the selected date range. The aim is to assist the user in quickly identifying the best (and worst) performing sites in respect to alarms.
Please refer to this article to learn more about the Alarm Analysis Dashboard.
