Alarm actions

Written by Edoardo Nalon

The Alarm Actions gives you a way to manually perform actions, directly on alarms in Alsense. With this feature, you no longer have to log in to Store View Web to Acknowledge, Clear, Watchlist, Comment on or park an alarm.

Each action is managed by a separate permission, if you would like access to the Alarm action feature then please contact your local sales representative.

Below you can find a separate description of each action, together with some feature video's describing the feature.

Acknowledge

Acknowledges the alarm in Alsense as well as on the controller. Caution: this will cause the alarm to be removed from the view 'Active Alarms' in Alsense.

Clear

Clears the alarm in Alsense as well as on the controller. Caution: this will cause the alarm to disappear and only return if the root cause persists (such as an open fridge door that stays open).

When you try to do any action on an alarm that is no longer present on the controller, a notification is given asking if the Alarm should be cleared in Alsense.

Commenting and Watchlist

These supporting actions help operators and managers prioritize attention to critical issues and aid in communication and collaborative monitoring.

Commenting an alarm means providing additional information or notes regarding a specific alarm that has been triggered, this could involve adding details about the nature of the alarm, any actions taken to address it, or any relevant observations. comments can be added to any action taken. A comment can be added to each type of Action, or the you can choose to add only a comment with the Comment action.

Watch list is a separate tab on the alarm panel. It is a curated selection of alarms that are considered important, critical, or requiring special attention. Adding a specific alarm to the watch list means to include it in a designated list of alarms that operators shall actively monitor or track. For example, further examination or analysis is needed to understand the root cause or potential implications of the triggered alarm.

Parking

Parking an alarm renders it as inactive for a limited time period. On the controller, the alarm maintains its state until resolved, however, if the alarm reason and duration are known to the user, they can temporarily render it inactive on the UI so more urgent alarm cases can be attended to. When the chosen time frame has elapsed and the alarm is still active, it returns to the active state or moves to the resolved state if resolved. All state changes referenced here are with regard to the UI.
Parked alarms have no effect on the Controller if during the parked state, the alarm gets cleared from the controller, it does not return to the active state.
